Many people choose to stay on property at a host hotels which provide transportation to the expo and race events. While these hotels may be more expensive than hotels found offsite, the savings of not having to provide your own transportation and the convenience of being so close to the events makes them a great choice.

In addition to Disney resorts, there are a few options which can help lower your costs while giving you some of the same benefits.

Walt Disney World Host Hotels for runDisney Events


With rooms starting at $108 per night, Disney Value Resorts provide a clean and comfortable rooms without the frills. These resorts are of Disney quality, with a themed resort, but lack a sit-down dining option and a slide in the pool. The rooms are small, can hold up to four guests and have views of the parking lot or other themed elements of the resort. They will have a food court and pizza delivery service in the evenings. Each of these resorts, like any of the host hotels, provide bus transportation to all events.

Moderate resorts have bigger rooms, have a sit-down dining option and the views are roughly the same as the value resorts. They have nicer pools which may include interactive elements and a small slide.

Villa resorts add in room service, again bigger rooms and a nicer pool which will include a playground, a health club, at least one table service restaurant and a food court. The views may also include views of a theme park.

Disney’s BoardWalk Inn


Deluxe resorts are the premium Disney experience. They include themed rooms and multiple dining options. They are close to at least one theme park and have convenient transportation to the others. They have multiple pools and a big slide.

While not official Disney host resorts, the Walt Disney World Swan and Walt Disney World Dolphin hotels make great options for race day. While they do not offer direct transportation to the race events and expo, it is just a short walk to the Yacht and Beach Clubs to catch the bus there.

Disney’s Art of Animation – Not a host hotel, but a lower cost option for Disney if you are planning on staying for a longer period of time. There is no transportation provided from this hotel.
