Disney Salutes The US Military With Hotel And Ticket Discounts
In a long held tradition, Disney continues to salute our military and retired veterans with some great discounts on hotel and theme park tickets.
Disney’s long standing tie with the military started back in World War I when Walt drew patriotic cartoons for his school newspaper. Later during WWII, Walt continued this tradition of support of our troops by making training and propaganda films for the U.S. Military. With all the resources, money and manpower of the United States focused on defeating Germany, Walt sent Mickey, Donald and the reset of the gang off to war.
Today, Disney has converted a one of its Magic Kingdom Resorts into the Shades of Green. Shades of Green, ran by the Armed Forces Recreation Center, offers low and free rooms to active duty military personnel, 100% disabled veterans and others, so they can have an affordable way to visit the most magical place on earth. A time to relax and enjoy much needed time with their families, at a price they can afford.
