Former Disney Channel Star Selena Gomez is taking a break from her career to focus on her Lupus diagnosis. Known for her role as Alex on Disney’s Wizards Of Waverly Place, Gomez has left her childhood acting career to become a Global Music Superstar. The 24 year old has taken time off before to go through chemotherapy, but has now decided to hit the pause button on her career as she focuses on this incurable auto-immune disease.

Lupus is an autoimmune disease that is characterized by fatigue, a butterfly rash on the face, joint pain, swelling, sensitivity to the sun and hair loss. While there is no cure for Lupus, there are several treatments and medications that can help alleviate the symptoms.

Lupus is diagnosed through a series of blood test where antibodies are examined.

During a visit to Walt Disney’s birthplace in Chicago, IL, Dick Van Dyke, Arlene Van Dyke and the Vantastix lead a roaring rendition of ‘Let’s Go Fly A Kite’ from the award winning movie Mary Poppins. Even though Mr Van Dyke was nominated for many awards for this most memorable performance, he walked away with a 2nd place Golden Laurel for “Musical Performance, Male” in 1965.

Mater and McQueen Come Roaring Back in a New ‘Cars’ Short

Mater and McQueen are back for another adventure in Radiator Springs with a six minute short, “Radiator Springs 500 1/2.” With a dry spell this year of Pixar movies, they have given you this little short to quench your thirst.

Join McQueen as he heads off into the desert on a race after being challenged by a group of tough cars. Mater, as always, plays the instigator and comedian that gets McQueen into all kinds of trouble.

Set to release on May 20th inside the Disney Movies Anywhere App for iPhone and iPad. To download the app race on over to DisneyMovieAnywhere.com.

This is the first installment in the “Tales From Radiator Springs” series by Disney/Pixar. More shorts are schedule to hit the track soon.

And while were are on the subject, Pixar has two big screen films coming out next year, “Inside Out” and “The Good Dinosaur.” Both are scheduled to hit the big screen in 2015.
