Over the last few years we have been trying to about creating a website that is both fun for us, but has interest for the reader. We thought long and hard, but everything we thought of was not long term interesting to us. We needed something we could love and bring life to it, that is when it hit us, we should start a website about Disney. We knew though that there were many websites out there that already touched on many Disney subjects, we needed something to be different. It dawned on us while building the website that our love of runDisney could be combined with our excitement for all other things Disney to bring to life not only a resource for those who run Disney, but to Disney fans alike. We wanted to bring a bit of magic, and we hope you hang on for the ride as we explore the magical world of Disney World .
I often see people using countdown calendars to keep track of their impending trip back Home to Disney. Nothing is more exciting, besides your actual trip of course, than looking at the days left before you leave.Whether you are 30, 60, 90, a year or more away from your next trip, the fun you will have on your trip can never be replaced.
There are several apps for counting down to your Magical Vacation that include:
The Happiest Place on Earth will get even happier Summer 2017, with the grand opening of Cars Land at the soon to be renamed Disneytoon Studios. The exciting, new addition is the first of the upcoming expansions to the Disney Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World.
Cars Land expands Disney’s Hollywood Studios by reclaiming backlot area from the Studio Backlot Tour which closed September 27, 2014. Additionally, Cars Land will tie in with the existing Lights, Motor, Action Stunt Show, which will be closed later this year to allow for tighter integration with the Cars brand.
Cars Land will include many of your favorite attractions from California Adventure Park, like Radiator Springs Races, but will include many new attractions to be announced at a later date.
In a follow up to yesterday’s blog post about the possibility of the Princess Half Marathon Weekend, Princess 5K and Enchanted 10K races being themed Frozen this year due to the popularity of Frozen, I have an update for you.
Rumors are starting to float around the Internet about the Frozen themed 5K and 10K for Princess Half Marathon Weekend. We saw one site that stated that runDisney had released a Press Release with more details on the Frozen themed races. I am not sure if this site has been given an advanced copy of the Press Release by runDisney so they could get their blog post ready for the official release today. The quotes they are using from the PR sound very Disneyish.
Don’t forget today at noon EST, that 9 am Pacific for you in Rio Linda, open registration for the Princess Half Marathon Weekend begins. We expect the races to sell out quickly, especially the 5k due to the prospect of a Frozen theme.
I’m hoping that this will become true as I’m looking forward to running as Olaf.
Stay tuned for more Frozen updates, as we will post them as they become available.
If you have been paying any attention lately to the world of Disney, you will have noticed that Frozen has been a mad success. So much of a success, that Frozen has taken control of almost the entire Hollywood Studios Park for the entire summer. The Frozen Summer Fun includes a special sing-a-long with Anna and Elsa, a parade, a Frozen Funland and a special Frozen Fireworks to cap off the day.
Frozen merchandise has been flying off the shelves and the lines to see the Frozen Duo Anna and Elsa has been crazy, sometime reaching 5 hours.
For the inaugural Enchanted 10K during last year’s Princess Half Marathon Weekend, Elsa even made a special appearance at the beginning of the race.
Each year for the Princess Half Marathon, they change up the Princess 5K with a different princess. Recently they have renamed it from the Royal Family 5K to the Princess 5K. Last year it was Cinderella, in 2011 it was Mickey and Minnie Royal Family 5K. This year, could it be the Frozen 5K. Signs are there, but there is no telling, as runDisney keeps their races quiet until they are ready to Let It Go. We are also thinking that there is a possibility of the Enchanted 10K becoming the Frozen 10K, but this seems a bit less likely.
Have fun racing and don’t forget that this week marks the opening of registration for the Princess Half Marathon Weekend!
